We currently have a large lot of wood from a train station originally constructed in 1875 in Waterbury, VT (first four pictures above). It is the first train station that Waterbury had seen, and was built when Amtrak first started to route lines up through Vermont. The wood that we are getting is mostly structural joists from the interior of the station. These beams tend to be 3” - 3.5” thick, so we’ve got plenty of beefy material for larger tables and items with a heftier look.
The finished products pictured above are a set made entirely from this Waterbury wood. This table and pair of benches are now in their new home at King Arthur Flour’s new bakery and store in Norwich, VT.
Keep your eyes out for more posts about the wood that we are using, where it has come from, and where it is going to!
Please don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions or curiosities about this wood or any other material that we use! We look forward to chatting with you soon :).
Thanks so much to Morwenna Lasko & Jay Pun for the wonderful note and cd!! (Taken with instagram)

Thank YOU Annemarie!!! Your beautiful artwork has given us something that our customers and browse-ers can take away with them. We’re so excited to keep working with you :)
For all others, if you haven’t checked out Annemarie’s blog, shop and studio, do so right away! She does incredible hand drawings and really fun, styled print work. We’re so thrilled to have the chance to work with her.
I have been a big fan of Vermont Farm Table since their retail shop opened in downtown Burlington last year. I think I actually gasped when I saw the storefront for the first time (for shop pics, check out my guest post on Paper Pastries last Spring). So I was psyched when they asked me to…
